Mariela Velazco and her family own Finca El Recuerdo, located in the surrounding areas of Unión, Nariño. Mariela is in charge of overseeing the full operation at her farm, controlling everything from the collection of the cherries right through the the final processing methods.
Harvest time is one of the busiest time in the farms, and often within coffee farming additional farm hands are brought in to help with the increased work load. To ensure the quality isn't effected, Mariela keeps close supervision over the workers.
This keen attention to detail, whilst time consuming, ensures that coffee from Fina El Recuerdo is always of the highest standards. Her passion to always improve her crop is admirable and it is why we are excited to offer coffee from her farm for the first time this year.

Harvested and selected by hand, this coffee is mechanically pulped before being fermented in tank for 24 hours. It is then machine dried followed by a 12 day in sun patio dry. As a fully washed coffee you can expect a clean, bright cup, balanced with sweet notes of grapefruit, plum and sweet toffee apple finish.
