The Samudio García family are the second generation of coffee growers. The farm is located in Vereda El Tambillo, Sandona-Nariño.

Don Gerardo and his wife Imelda have three daughters who are continuing on the family farm. Their 1 hectare farm has approximately 4,000 plants, which the family harvest all by hand, ensuring only beans which are fully ripe and without visual defects are harvested. Whilst machine harvesting would be quicker, the attention to detail would be lacking and the quality would drop severely.

PROCESS

This particular lot has been allowed to ripen longer on the tree, has been fermented for an extended period with some fruit remaining on the coffee seed before being fully removed, and dried for an extended time. This has created an incredibly sweet cup, with notes of ripe red currants, floral honey, and rich brown sugar.
