This is the fourth coffee we are sharing this year from Esperanza and Mauro Reyes at Finca Esperanza in La Unión, Nariño.

We have been working with Esperanza and Mauro for several years, and each visit to their farm gives us the chance to see what they have been working on. They grow a number of different varieties, from the more traditional Castillo and Colombia to Geisha and, this time, Bourbon Sidra.

Bourbon Sidra is grown in much smaller quantities and is something a little different from the coffees we usually share from their farm. Esperanza and Mauro carefully pick only ripe cherries and take their time with the fermentation and drying, allowing the natural sweetness and fruit character of the coffee to come through.

For us, this coffee is another side of a farm and a family we know well, and a chance to share some of the different varieties Esperanza and Mauro are exploring each year.
