We are really happy to share this lot from Finca El Encanto, produced by Leonor Gómez and Julio José Gómez in the mountains of Nariño.
When we visited the farm, what stood out immediately was the atmosphere, a house full of flowers, colour, and warmth. Leonor welcomed us with incredible hospitality, and it was clear that the care she puts into the farm extends into every detail of the space around her.
Alongside coffee, they also grow plantains and cassava, reflecting a more traditional and diversified approach to farming in the region.
Harvesting is carried out every two weeks during the season, After picking, the coffee is depulped the following day and fermented for at least 24 hours before being washed.
Drying then takes place slowly over 12 to 14 days in covered drying tunnels, allowing the coffee to stabilise and develop a clean, balanced profile.
Finca El Encanto is a great example of how experience, care, and consistency come together to produce high-quality coffee. Leonor’s ongoing involvement in training and education within her community also reflects a broader commitment, not just to her own farm, but to the future of coffee in the region.
