This is one of the lots we are proud to share from El Trapiche, Don Gerardo focuses on producing high quality Arabica coffee, with Castillo as his main variety.

Castillo is one of Colombia’s most widely grown coffee varieties, developed to resist coffee leaf rust while adapting well to the country’s diverse growing conditions.

Beyond coffee, the farm integrates other crops such as bananas, papayas, mandarins, and guavas, supporting both household consumption and additional income. This diversification contributes to soil health and reflects a more sustainable approach to farming.

Don Gerardo is committed to environmentally responsible practices, using organic fertilizers like coffee cherry husks. Despite challenges from climate variability, which has impacted yields in recent years, he continues to invest in improving his farm, including renewing older trees to maintain both productivity and quality.
