Producer: Esperanza & Mauro Reyes
Región: La Unión, Nariño
Process: Traditional Washed
Variety: Geisha
Altitude: 1,800 masl

This is the third of several lots we have this year from El Derrumbo, produced by Esperanza and Mauro Reyes in La Unión, Nariño. Alongside their Castillo and Colombia lots, this Geisha represents their work with more refined and smaller production varieties.

Geisha is widely regarded as one of the most expressive coffee varieties, known for its floral and elegant profile. It requires careful cultivation at high altitude, along with precise processing to fully showcase its potential.

Following the same attention to detail seen across all their coffees, this lot begins with the careful selection of perfectly ripe cherries. The coffee is then fermented in cherry for 24 hours in controlled conditions, before being depulped and undergoing a short secondary fermentation to remove remaining mucilage.

Drying is carried out slowly and in stages, starting on patios and finishing in controlled environments to protect the structure and stability of the coffee.

The result is a clean and refined cup, with a tea-like profile, delicate florals, and a soft, structured acidity, a clear expression of both the Geisha variety and the meticulous work at El Derrumbo.
